For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to learn to play the piano. I finally have the opportunity as we recently added one to our home. I’ve been enjoying practicing it everyday and am pleased to share my progress with you.

School Days - Introduction to Music
I studied music and learned to play the trumpet in school. I played in the band throughout my high school years and it is one of my fondest memories of my school days. After graduation, I was offered a full college scholarship to play the trumpet in the band. I did not take that offer and shortly after I quit playing the trumpet altogether.

wings to the mind,
flight to the imagination
and life to everything.“ ~ Plato

Beginner Piano Lessons
As a beginner piano player, I planned to take piano lessons; however, with the coronavirus lurking around I thought my best bet would be to try to teach myself at home in the meantime.
I purchased Alfred’s Basic Adult Piano Course Book One and began methodically reading through the book each day during piano practice. I have to say it has been a fantastic, easy to understand booklet and I highly recommend it!
Below is a video of me playing Standing In The Need of Prayer page 77.
I hope you enjoyed my beginner video! Whether you play an instrument or not, I encourage you to allow music to brighten your day.
